Hanwha Solutions invest close to NOK 1.5 billion in REC Silicon
Following the transaction, Aker Horizons and Hanwha Solutions hold 16.67 percent ownership each.
Hanwha Solutions manufactures solar panels for private homes through the Q CELLS brand. The product has a 25 percent market share in the USA and operates a factory with a production capacity of 1.7 GW, equivalent to 12,000 modules daily.
According to the stock exchange announcement, the investment will enable REC to reopen the factory on Moses Lake and further investments in Butte, Montana.
